Sleet will change to snow before ending west to east late tonight/early Thursday. Wind chills of 5 to 10 degrees...with air temperatures in the low 20s...can be expected. Wind are blowing about 30 mph. Roads will be icy tonight and Thursday morning but should melt during the day as skies clear and temperatures rise above freezing.
11-23-05 - Instead of going to grandma's house this year, some people are going to their nearest campground. It's a growing tradition at places like Lake Murray, and with mild weather, the park could see record numbers this year.
All the full service hook up sites at Elephant Rock here at Lake Murray State Park are filled with campers and as the night goes on the park predicts it will fill up even more.
Usually when fall hits the park slows down, but not this year. Park rangers say they have the most campers they've ever seen the day before Thanksgiving.
But while folks are having a great time relaxing the lodge cooks are busy preparing tomorrow's meal. They expect over 600 people and campers say once you do the great outdoors for Thanksgiving you never want to have it any other way.
