11-30-05 - Grayson deputies serving a warrant in Denison ended up arresting two people for something even more serious.
It happened around midnight when a warrant for theft by check was being served to a man in the 900 block of West Main Street. But once deputies arrived, they discovered a working meth lab inside.
Jody Holder, 43, was being served the warrant, but now he and Sherry Welborn are in the Grayson County Jail on drug manufacturing and possession charges.
After getting another warrant to search the home, the deputies spent most of the morning looking it over and found all the meth making materials as well as two ounces of finished product inside the house.
The street value of that much methanphetine carries a value between $500 and $1,000.
The amount of meth labs in Grayson County is dwindling, but the materials to make them are always available.
"We still have work to do," Grayson County Sheriff Chief Deputy Ron Brown said. "There are still labs in Grayson County, while they are dwindling in number, as long as the ingredients are available, meth cooks will continue to work."
In addition to these drug charges, Jody Holder will still face those theft by check charges. Sherry Welborn was also wanted on a parole violation. No bond has been set for either suspect.
