12-6-05 - 40 home-schooled kids from 3 local counties took top honors in a national robotics competition. The Texoma Home Educators Team competed at SMU against 60 teams from across the nation.
Their challenge was to build a robot that could simulate the repair operation on the Hubble space telescope.
The team walked away with the B.E.S.T. award, which stands for Boosting Engineering Science and Technology. They also placed 1st in oral presentation leadership and 2nd in the most innovative design.
The team received a check for $500.
