Federal Funds Could Offset Wildfire Costs

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Governor Henry is encouraging fire chiefs
of rural fire departments to apply for funding to offset the costs
of fighting recent wildfires.
Federal disaster funds have been approved for Mayes, Stephens,
McIntosh and Garvin counties.
The governor says all the chiefs need to do is submit proper
documentation of their costs to the state Department of
Agriculture, Food and Forestry. State Agriculture Secretary Terry
Peach has sent a letter to the fire chiefs asking them to assess
their needs.
