Meth Lab Uncovered in Grayson Co.

12-12-05 – Grayson County Deputies uncovered a meth lab after the cooks were caught burning lab trash outside; a violation of a burn ban. A deputy was called to a home in the 3800 block of Highway 69 – just east of Denison around 4:00 p.m. on Saturday to investigate a burning oil drum full of trash in front of the home.

The Denison Fire Department put out the fire and when the deputy tried to issue a citation for violating the burn ban, two men ran from the home.

The deputy called narcotics officers after he smelled meth-making materials cooking inside.

In the house, authorities found chemicals to make approximately $15,000 worth of meth. Officers also found a coloring book and pencils on the couch; signs that children may have lived in the home.

The suspects have not been caught, but authorities say they have identified one of the men. He is a 43-year-old from Gainesville with prior arrests for drugs, weapons violations, and evading arrest.

The suspects face several charges.
