Woman Escapes Robber

A quick run by the grocery store took a frightening turn for one Denison woman after a man pulled a knife on her in the parking lot.

Now is the prime time people are getting off work, running in to get a few groceries, but last night just as the sun was going down a woman parked her truck right in front of the entrance in one of the handicap spots. But before she got out, someone else got in.

Fifty-four-year old Emma Newcomb was looking for her grocery list, and when she looked up, she saw a man lying across her seat gripping a large knife.

"He had the knife right by my leg,” recalls Newcomb.

The man repeatedly asked her to hand over her purse and all of her money, but she says there was no way he was getting it.

She jumped out of her truck with her purse in hand and ran inside the store.

The suspect took off running across the parking lot, Denison police are still looking for him. The woman did get a good look at him though; he's a white male in his 20’s with a light colored beard. He was wearing a green stocking cap and camouflage pants.
