12-28-05 - An Ardmore police officer was involved in a bad accident just moments after he got off work Tuesday night. Lieutenant Jerry Pearce was in his patrol car when he collided nearly head-on with another car.
The accident happened last night around 11:15 off Mount Washington and Deer Creek Road just outside the city limits.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is still investigating what happened but says it was a near head-on collision.
Lieutenant Pearce was heading west. The 17-year-old in the other vehicle was eastbound, and they met at the top of a hill.
Lieutenant Pearce was taken to Mercy Memorial and released with minor injuries. The teenage driver in the other car was flown to an Oklahoma City hospital with internal injuries.
OHP is re-constructing the scene. They hope to release their findings by next week.
