As this first round of storms sweep through, flash flooding is possible as we have watches in effect since heavy rainfall is expected. These storms are on the strong side, but severe threat will be more towards later this afternoon into the night as they could become severe out west.
12-28-05 - A construction worker was hit and killed by an 18-wheeler near Caddo, Oklahoma on Wednesday afternoon. The Dallas truck driver has now been charged with manslaughter.
It happened in a construction zone on US Highway 75 north, just 1,700 feet south of the Caddo exit. 59-year-old Judd Faudree was holding a 'slow' sign in the slow lane of the northbound lanes when he saw the truck heading toward him. Troopers say the Caddo man ran into the fast lane, but when the truck swerved into that lane, he ran back into the slow lane. The truck, trying to avoid Faudree, swerved again, killing him.
Patrick O'Neal Walker of Dallas was driving the 2003 Kenworth truck and trailier. Troopers arrested the 32-year-old Wednesday night, charging him with manslaughter, failure to devote full time and attention, and failire to obey a traffic control device. They say his log books hadn't been updated in a week.
