Delays in Rebate Check Delivery

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Got your check yet? About 40,000 Oklahomans are still waiting for their state rebate checks.

A spokesman for the state treasurer's office, Tim Allen, says new checks have been sent to about ten-thousand people who didn't get the first ones.

The state sent out $1.2 million rebate checks. But about 50,000 weren't delivered by the post office, mostly because of incorrect mailing addresses.

Allen says all taxpayers should have their checks by the end of
January.

A total of $92 million in rebates were authorized this year. They represent excess state revenue collected during the fiscal year that ended June 30th.

Single taxpayers received 45 dollars; couples received 90-dollar checks.
