Pilot Survives Plane Crash Near Antlers

1-10-06 - A Texas pilot survived a plane crash in Pushmataha County Tuesday morning. It happened at 9am, 3 miles northwest of Antlers on private property.

Harry Simmons had just taken off from the Antlers airport in a 1968 Playboy single engine airplane. The 55-year-old pilot from Spring, Texas says he ran out of fuel. He attempted to turn around and return to the airport but went down in a wooded. Simmons walked out to the Indian Nation turnpike and called for help from a McDonalds.

He was treated and released with head and leg injuries.
