Shooting Sends Woman to Hospital

1-24-06 - A verbal dispute between neighbors in Denison ended with a woman shot Monday night. Police say the alleged shooter fled the scene, but they caught up with him a short time later.

Around 11:30 last night witnesses say the 25-year-old suspect was in his car when he pulled in front of this house and fired anywhere between six and eight bullets into the home.

Three people were inside and took cover, but a 23-year-old woman was shot in the foot. She had to be taken to Baylor Medical Center in Dallas for surgery. We're told she's doing OK.

As for the suspect, he immediately left the scene but was later arrested at his sister's house and taken to the Grayson County Jail.

We spoke to one of the witnesses that was inside the house when shots were fired. We're protecting her identity, but she said they were watching TV when shots rang out.

Neighbors say the suspect lives just a couple of houses down and pulled up right at the corner a few feet from the house and began firing.
