UIL Realigns Districts and Classes

2-2-06- Changes are coming when the 2006 football season starts for area Texas high schools. Districts and classes have been rearranged by the University Interscholastic League.

5A Denton-Ryan drops to 4A, bringing a new face to the class. They'll join Denison, Sherman, Denton, Denton Guyer, Wichita Falls, and Wichita Falls Rider in district 5.

State runner up Gainesville will be moving into a tougher district to play Argyle, Bowie, Bridgeport, Decatur, and Sanger.

And the 2005 2A state champ Celina is bumping up into a 3A class with Bonham, Frisco Wakeland, Pilot Point, Princeton, Prosper, Van Alstyne, and Whitesboro.

With Pottsboro moving down to 2A, that will cause the "Battle of the Boro's" to be no more unless played as a non-district game. Pottsboro moves to 2A to play with Bells, Callisburg, Gunter, Howe, Sadler, S & S Cons., Tom Bean, and Whitewright.
