1-31-06 - The former Knox hotel, a notorious brothel in downtown Ardmore, is getting a major makeover. For nearly two decades, the building has set empty, but new owners hope to make it a destination hotel.
Jerod Wells and his family have high hopes for the building. Working with the Preservation Board, they hope to capitalize on the building's sordid history. Their renovation would include a full spa and coffee bar.
The downtown stretch of Ardmore is where the city began - at one time, a rough and tumble cow town, where anything went.
The restoration project has just begun, and could take two years to finish.
