2-9-06- A four month project to improve medical services in Paris is now complete bringing more organization and efficiency to a hectic medical center.
Surgeons at the Paris Regional Medical Center perform about 5,000 procedures every year. Clinical supervisors say in the past the demand was time consuming with doctors having to work back and forth on three different locations, and the new surgical center is making it easier.
All services at the medical center have been combined into two locations. The new outpatient surgery center on the north campus will handle procedures such as ear, nose, and throat surgeries, eye surgeries, and knee scopes. Four operating rooms, a C-Section room, and a urology room, along with a family consultation center. Brand new equipment like the new patient pager system is also part of the upgrade.
The surgery center has been up and running for about a month. The only outpatient procedures not done at the north location are nuclear medicine, radiology studies, and cardiac catheterizations in which case patients will go to the south location.
The $1.2 million project was paid for by the parent company Essent Healthcare.
