Manhunt Stretching Manpower Thin

2-15-06 - A search for an escaped murder suspect has agencies across Southern Oklahoma combing the area, but the manhunt is leaving small communities stretched thin.

On Tuesday in Silo, there was no shortage of help. Over 100 officers from several different agencies big and small were out. But the search is trying on all agencies, including the one who coordinates the search effort.

OHP listens to every single call and from there determines if the planes and dogs are needed. Tuesday they went to action twice and found nothing.

But in most cases, local agencies are covering the search for Cross and their own communities.
