2-20-06- The jailer taken hostage by three inmates in Bryan County was fired Monday for violating policy. Accused murderer Kevin Leon Cross and two other inmates escaped from the Bryan County Jail on February 11th.
The jailer says the men grabbed him from behind and held a sharp object to his back. He then walked them to the lobby. Two were caught that night, but Cross is still at large. The jail administrator says the jailer violated policy by going into a cellblock by himself before locking it down.
Kevin Cross has been on the run for more than a week. If you see Cross contact you local law enforcement agency immediately or the Bryan County OHP at (580)924-2601.
