Crackdown on Driving W/out Insurance

Commissioner Bob Geurin says he wants a new city ordinance in place that states if you're caught driving without this piece of paper, your vehicle will be towed.

It's the one thing 482 people couldn't produce when stopped in Ardmore, insurance papers. And a city commissioner says that number needs to come down.

If you're caught driving without liability insurance, the police will have your car towed, costing you eighty dollars for the ticket and another one hundred to get your car back. It’s a cost that Geurin hopes makes folks think twice before getting behind a wheel of a car without insurance.

Bob Geurin plans to present his proposal to the city commissioner at their in the coming weeks. But so far, it has the support of the city manager and the chief of police.
