2-22-06- A group in Carter County is having a "Call to Action" meeting about big tobacco companies targeting African Americans. Wednesday, leaders prepared with a press conference for Thursday’s event.
They say African Americans are unequally targeted by the tobacco industry and want to get the word out to residents. Thursday, Gene Johnson of the African American Tobacco Coalition plans to address the issue in a public forum.
The "Call to Action" meeting will be at the HFW Wilson Community Center in Ardmore at 6:30 p.m.
