2-24-06 - Due to two fatality accidents last week, Highway 75 was partially shut down at two separate times on Monday. That allowed the Sherman Police Department Critical Accident Investigation Team to reconstruct the deadly accidents.
One lane of northbound Hwy. 75 from N. Travis St. to Texoma Parkway was shut down in the morning hours, until around noon. One lane of southbound Highway 75 was shut down in the afternoon.
The first wreck took place around 1:00 a.m. last Monday when 35-year old Angel Arroyo died on scene after his Lincoln Navigator lost control on the Texoma Parkway Bridge and rolled over. He had four passengers, including three children. The second accident happened around 4:00 a.m. when a southbound car lost control and slammed into a semi truck, bursting into flames.
Officials hope they will be able to figure out how the accidents occured, and what caused them.
