2-25-06 – The Critical Accident Investigation Team is looking into the cause of a major accident on Highway 75 in Sherman. The wreck happened around 6:00 a.m. on Saturday near FM 1417.
Police say 39-year-old Gary Woodard of Denison was taken to the hospital after his Dodge pickup collided with an 18-wheeler. Woodard was traveling south when police say his pickup may have hydroplaned and crossed into the north-bound lanes of traffic.
It was raining and the roads were slick at the time of the wreck.
The driver of the 18-wheeler, 38-year-old Singh Kuldip, was not injured.
One northbound lane of highway 75 was shut down for a short time Saturday morning.
Woodard has been transferred to Baylor Medical Center in Dallas. His condition has not been released.
