3-4-06 – The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office obtained a warrant and seized nearly sixty head of cattle Saturday afternoon. The Sheriff’s Office says the animals are malnourished and neglected. Deputies are looking for the property owner who they say faces charges of animal cruelty.
Authorities say the owner lives in Justin, Texas - but owns land just south of Madill. After years of phone calls from concerned residents in the area, deputies are now taking care of the land and cattle for now.
Sheriff’s deputies say the man they are looking for is currently on probation for a similar crime in Denton County, Texas.
Deputies say they will file formal charges on Monday.
