3-6-06 - With the burn ban reinstated in Grayson County, firefighters say its renewal could not have come soon enough. Firefighters from Bells, Savoy, and Whitewright were on scene of a out of control fire at 2:30 p.m. on Monday.
A fire that started on Flemming Road burned over 200 acres. No structures were destroyed, but four were at risk. The Bells fire chief said that they received seven calls on different fires alone on Monday.
While the burn ban is back in place, firefighters worry that many of the fires in the Grayson County area on Monday were started by illegal burns, including the one on Flemming Road where residents were burning brush.
