3-11-06 – Several cases of vandalism have been reported at the Savoy City Park. Police say, recently, a wood bench was destroyed. An event sign was broken and the nets at the tennis court were torn down.
The four acre park boasts trails, slides and a pavilion. The $200,000 investment has become a target for vandals over the past month, say police. Authorities believe juveniles may be responsible and the city is researching the possibility of adding extra security such as more lights.
The park in Savoy remains open, but some repairs are needed.
