Flash Flood Watches are posted through Monday morning for all of Texoma. The most concentrated rainfall is expected Saturday night into Sunday. Please be alert to floodwaters, washed out roads and rising creeks.
3-13-06 - A grenade was found outside a Sherman business on Monday. Employees at D & R Metal off of Lamar Street found a piece of metal that they thought resembled a grenade.
Sherman Police Department took pictures and sent them of to officials at Fort Sill to review. The military says it was a Japanese neo-mortar round, which is a basic military grenade with the pin in it which is leading officials to believe it is still live. The employees found the grenade next to some barrels dumped in with someone’s scrap metal.
Fort Sill Military specialists arrived to the scene where they took the grenade to an unknown secure location away from buisnesses and homes and destroyed the grenade to be safe.
