3-13-06 - Sad news comes to surface Monday for a firefighter who was critically burned fighting wildfires in February near Duncan.
34-year old Destry Horton, a Chickasha volunteer firefighter was on his day off and volunteered to help fight a massive grassfire near Duncan when he and another firefighter were burned when their rig got stuck and the fire engulfed them.
Destry has been given little chance of survival, and has had both arms amputated near the elbow, and one foot removed. Doctors say it is a miracle he is still alive.
