3-29-06 - Prom season is just around the corner, but one junior at Boswell High is fighting for her life, making sure this prom is not her last. Prom at Boswell is two weeks away and the spotlight will be shining on Kendra Cline.
Cline was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in January and it has been a downward spiral ever since her diagnosis. In January Kendra went into emergency surgery to remove a 22 lb cancerous tumor on her ovaries. She was not expected to live through the operation. The cancer is attacking her liver, spleen, and back as well. But she is not letting the pain get her down.
Her English teacher Tammi Perry is treating her to a day of pampering and Kendra is anticipating the big night. Ronald McDonald House donation buckets will be placed at different businesses on Main Street in Durant as well as Boswell High School and Bride & Groom in Durant. For every pound of coke tabs collected, $0.75 will go to help her family.
