Semi overturned – Bryan County
Traffic was forced to slow down after a semi overturned on Highway 69-75 just before eight o’clock Thursday morning two miles south of Calera.
Authorities say the back axle of a semi hauling asphalt came undone and sent the back trailer sliding off the road and flipped it on its side.
The overturn did cause several grass fires in the median where the axle ended up, but those fires were quickly extinguished.
The reason for the axle coming loose is not known, but authorities are still investigating. The driver was not hurt.
Motorcycle accident – Murray Co.
Unsafe speeds are to blame for a motorcycle accident in Murray County.
Troopers say 20-year-old Billy Daughtery of Davis, Oklahoma, was westbound on a country road in Sulphur late Thursday night when he ran off the roadway and flipped his bike close to 130 feet.
Luckily, Daugherty survived. He is listed in stable condition at a Norman hospital. Officers say he was not wearing a helmet.
2 injured in Pushmataha Co. accident
An accident in Pushmataha County around eight o’clock Thursday night two miles east of Clayton landed two men in a Tulsa hospital.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says both 33-year-Old Kenny Crossland and 26-year-old Kendall Standefer were riding their ATVs when one of them stopped in the middle of the road, causing the other to slam into the back of him.
Both were transported by Eagle Med, and at last check were listed in stable condition.
OHP says illegal drugs and unsafe speeds were the cause of the accident.
