3-31-06 - A Fort Hood soldier and an airman from Houston have been killed in action in Iraq. The Department of Defense announced Friday the death of 21-year old Private First Class Sean D. Tharp of Orlando, Florida.
DOD says Tharp was killed Tuesday in Baghdad when soldiers came under fire while on patrol. Tharp was assigned to the First Battalion, 22nd Infantry, First Brigade of the Fourth Infantry Division at Fort Hood. The Defense Department says 37-year-old Technical Sergeant Walter M. Moss Junior died Wednesday while trying to defuse a homemade bomb near Baghdad.
The Texan was assigned to the 366th Civil Engineer Squadron at Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho.
