DENISON, Tex. -- The scaffolding is rising at the Texoma Summer Music Festival. Crews assembled the stage Thursday at the North Texas Regional Airport.

The three-day event starts Friday afternoon and features 25 bands and lots of other family fun, including rides for kids, a giant waterslide, food, and more.

Organizers are also holding a raffle with lots of prizes to benefit CASA, and the weather shouldn't be too bad either.

"I was really worried about that because we're either going to have a lot of rain or be really hot, and we lucked out and it's supposed to be in the low 90s all weekend and partly cloudy and a 20 percent chance of rain Saturday and Sunday and we're find with that. But we're going to have misting fans and misting tents and plenty of ways to keep cool out here too," organizer Josh Hansard says.

Presale tickets ends today, but you can buy tickets at the gate. Everything at the festival is cash only.

Just want to give Josh and Michelle Hansard a huge pat on the back for a great job they did putting the music festival together. They worked very hard and long and did a fantastic job. If you didn't go - you missed some really good music and fun. Thanks Josh and Michelle - let's do it again next fall!

It's raising money for a good cause. I like to drink beer at concerts but since it's a family oriented event I agree with the "no drinky" part. I would not like to see little kids get toppled over by a drunk mullet headed dude yelling Freebird.

The website is http://www.texomamusicfestival.com/ for those of you who want to check out the schedule. Personally I'm sad they didn't book Loco Motive for the event. They are a great local band...you will be able to check them out Aug 2nd at Highport Marina.
