Local Teacher Helping Create National Test

4-3-06 - LaDonna Strasbaugh, a math teacher at Dickson High School in Ardmore is one of four teachers from across the country selected to help develop and review materials for the ACT, the nationally recognized college entrance exam.

Strasbaugh will spend six weeks this summer working with testing experts at ACT as part of the annual Visiting Teacher program. Strasbaugh was chosen from among more than 40 applicants from 22 states. She has been teaching math from the remedial level to honors classes for more than 20 years.

Strasbaugh said she hopes that the Visiting Teacher program will teach her valuable lessons that she can pass along to her students. Strasbaugh will work with ACT's Classroom Connections staff to create instructional support materials for six weeks beginning in June.
