Imagine learning that your baby has a genetic catastrophic illness with no real cure.
For one Denison family that nightmare has become a reality. Fifteen month old Tyson has experienced more illnesses than most do in a lifetime. While he is an active toddler, his body battles X-Linked Agammaglobin Anemia. Approximately one in 10,000 children are born with the inherited illness that disables a young boy's immune system. Just in the early stages of the illness, Tyson receives a ten thousand dollar, eight hour infusion every 3 weeks.
This Thursday, Friday, and Saturday a garage sale will take place at 2414 Renaissance Circle in Denison from 8 A.M. to 5 P.M. There is also a Tyson Baby Fund set up at the Landmark and American Bank.
As Lisa Monahan reports, find out the struggles this family faces as they cope with the illness facing their young baby boy.
