4-13-06 - A woman whose daughter was murdered almost three years ago is trying to say thank you to the man who caught the killer. Karen Bingham nominated OSBI Agent Chad Dansby for a distinction on a nationally televised series.
America’s Most Wanted is running an online contest to recognize first responders who have gone above and beyond to help others. And McCurtain County OSBI Agent Dansby is on the list of candidates Bingham says if not for him her daughter’s killer would still be running free. The memories will always remain for Karen, but so will every horrifying detail of November 4, 2003.
Her 31-year old daughter Robin was a manager at the Broken Bow Sonic when she was murdered in a premeditated attack as she was handling the store’s money. Agent Dansby caught Robin’s killer, Eric Blandon within 12 hours with the help of Blandon’s friends.
Now over two years later, Karen is trying to thank him for easing the pain. Eric Blandon plead guilty to first-degree murder charges and is in prison serving a life sentence with parole. Bingham says that through the entire court process, Dansby was by her family’s side.
