BENNINGTON, OK -- Crews have spent more than 24 hours clearing a train derailment in Bryan County.

The train cars de-railed Tuesday afternoon on a Kiamichi rail line near Winters Creek Road, just outside of Bennington.

About six cars turned on their sides and many more are off the track. No one lives in the immediate area, and crews had to clear a substantial amount of trees and brush to access the tracks.

The product is no harm to the public. No hazmat of any kind. What we're looking at is paper fiberboard that are in the cars. Again, no harm to the public and that's our biggest concern, said Trainmaster Layton Cox with Kiamichi Railroad.

No crossings were affected. Crews expect the derailment to be cleared by Thursday.
