Possible Prank Causes School Fire

4-26-06 - A Sherman school building was evacuated Wednesday morning after a fire was started, which seemed suspicious. All of the students and teachers were outside of the Dillingham School and inside was thick, black smoke after what appeared to be some kind of bathroom prank.

Around 10:00 a.m. a thick black smoke was spotted in a girl’s bathroom that prompted the evacuation. The fire department fought through the smoke to find a roll of toilet paper that had been set on fire. Firefighters put out the fire after it damaged some of the walls in the restroom.

After letting the building ventilate everyone was allowed back inside the school. The fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire that looks suspicious.
