LOVE COUNTY, Okla. -- There are new details Monday night on the case of dozens of dogs that were dumped in rural Love County. Stephanie Brletic has an update on the dogs’ conditions and how some people are helping out.

Love County authorities did not know what to do Sunday night. It is hard enough finding a home for a hundred dogs any day, let alone on a Sunday night. But that all changed when authorities called a place known as Neely's Pet Place Adoptions.

When Brenda Neely's phone rang Sunday night, she had no idea what was in store for her. Love County authorities asked Neely if she could take in a dozen or so abandoned dogs.

Neely did not hesitate, and immediately headed to Courtney, Oklahoma.

"I don't have the heart to pick who lives and who dies so we just took them all. We're very overcrowded, extremely overcrowded, but we'll manage. We'll find a way to get them all taken care of and get them all new homes."

Neely says the scene was heartbreaking. Most of the dogs were in horrible condition, ill and covered in mange. Some could not even stand.

She found herself driving back to Bonham with nearly two dozen dogs and promised to go back and rescue every single animal.

That promise means each dogs will have a chance at life. Neely says she will provide starter shots, heart worm testing, and even spaying and neutering to each dog.

"We try to make sure they have a clean bill of health so that their new family doesn't have any problems with them when they do get them."

The Town and Country Animal Hospital in Ardmore is also helping out. Vets there are helping nurse about 50 dogs back to health.

Neely says that is a big help, but another way to help her is to adopt one of the other 90 dogs in her shelter. She has puppies and adult dogs with breeds ranging from Chihuahuas to basset hounds to pure bred labs.

"There's a whole bunch of dogs out here who could really use a loving home, and if we could find them homes it would make room for the ones that are coming in that aren't going to be able to go right away."

For information on how you can make a donation or adopt an animal, see the info at the bottom of the story.

Neely's Pet Place will be closed this week while the newest dogs are being taken care of. Neely is paying for the dogs’ medical costs out of her own pocket, and is expecting to pay about $1,000 for rabies shots and $5,000 to spay and neuter each animal.

Pet Talk: How to adopt

Story from Sunday night...

LOVE COUNTY, OK – Officials in are frantically searching for homes for 75 puppies. The dogs were found on the side of the road near Courtney. They are said to be all different breeds.

The dogs are starving and need new homes. Authorities are trying to contact the SPCA and animal shelters in the region.

Update: Sheriff's Office officials say a Bonham woman has agreed to take all the dogs in.

They say the dogs are all purebreds, including poodles, yorkies, shihtzus, and many more.

Authorities are looking for information on the dumping. Those involved could face more than 80 felony counts of cruelty to animals.

For those who wish to help, here is contact information for the shelter where the dogs are....

hey them pictures look that the dogs aint in a good home of spot. I would call that animal curlity and you should take the dogs to the vet or give them to the ASPCA so they can get help and find new homes and that place aint good for the dogs. dogs need to be let free and let them run and no traped in a building. so u better do someing about it.

To all who are under the impression that our shelter slandered and started rumors about the OK. sheriff's office and the man who delivered the dogs. We did not accuse anyone of anything. We received a call about some dogs the next day who were on their way to our shelter and never arrived, our only concern was if the dogs and driver were ok. We did not accuse anyone of selling anything and making a profit, nor are we making a profit off any of these dogs. We have not talked to anyone in OK since the dogs arrived here. We are an out of pocket shelter, we do not receive grants and we do not call business's asking for money. We are regulated and inspected and we do make sure our animals are well cared for. Our dogs here are going up for adoption AFTER they're spayed/neutered to make sure they're never in a puppy mill again. I do not feel that is unfair to anyone, or to the dog. We are going to do what is best for the animal. Our adoption fee is low to help cover our costs and nothing more.

I know that girl pearsonally and she is amazing! Shame on you for suspecting things like that!

There's a permanent place here on Earth for people who love and TAKE CARE of animals! Dogs were created as "domesticated" because they need people and people need them...my dog just got run over by a speeding car who did not even slow down or stop! I am donating a dog house, big bag of food, etc. Wish I could do more! It's a consolation to know that God sees every animal that is mistreated and HE SEES who is reponsible and He will take care of them in due time...GENISIS 1:24&28/ ISAIAH 11:6--9/ ISAIAH 45:18/ ISAIAH 65:17/ PSALM 37:29/ ECCLESIASTES 1:4/ PROVERBS 2:21 & 22/ REVELATION 21:4)

Good Job Big Mike. M is just plain stupid and would not know the true love you receive from adoring eyes of a dog that loves you unconditional.

Posted by: Big Mike Location: Denison on Aug 22, 2008 at 03:22 PM
Which makes people who think like u "M" just as cruel and heartless as the ones who dump off animals and who graduate to worse crimes like rape and murder - "they're JUST PEOPLE!" - whats thedifference between ones that need help...? Answer:the ability to care and the gumption to do something about it. ("M" cant come to the phone now because he's stiing off his rapist sentence in jail - those poor horses)

Posted by: M on Aug 22, 2008 at 12:48 PM
Probably not. Cuz its still JUST a DOG.

Posted by: Debbie Location: Sherman on Aug 22, 2008 at 10:06 AM
This is for M I feel the same way about you as Straydog Maybe you would feel different if someone had a 22 pointing at you

I am sure vets are inspected by a local or state health dept. and maybe a Code Enforcement agency for health and sanitary reasons. My question is what about these NON PROFIT adoption agencies? I adopted a sheltie once. Before I was able to get her. They had a rep. com to my house to see what kind of living conditions she would be in. I paid $65.00 to the County Animal Center where she was. That was to pay for adoption. They had spayed and gave her shots. I had 2 weeks to take her to the vet at my own expense to have her checked out and get any other shots she may need and get the papers from the vet to take back to the agency. I know this agency is inspected on a monthly bases.

Great now someone, Sandra, is trying to get everyones tax dollars to go towards an animal. I think i like the .22 shells better.

Posted by: Big Mike Location: Denison on Aug 21, 2008 at 09:59 PM
hey MJL - for a non profit shelter, they can or don't have to ask for those donations. All that supports a non profit is what the people who do donate give and what comes out of the operator(s) pockets. When's the last time you gave up your whole paycheck so that a dog could have food and medicine? Come to think of it - you seem like the type who does point fingers who doesnt realize that you still have three more fingers pointing back at yourself.....whatsup dude? Fall on your stick the wrong way or what? Cut em a break - at least they have the balls to help. I know i could'nt even try to take in that many dogs so i congratulate them.

Posted by: Ken Location: Honey Grove on Aug 21, 2008 at 09:54 PM
Nice one, mjl - although before casting expursions at people, check your facts. I adopted from that shelter before and will again. Their adoption fee is based on what it takes to treat and neuter or spay the dog. They charge half of what it costs them to adopt a dog - big or small. Seems like an adoption fee is a good thing to make sure that the four legged pals get a good home. And i wouldnt say they have to advertise but anything they do get is better than the hard time that people like you put them through. Before all this dog-dumping stuff happened, they were taking in animals from local pounds, picking them up whereas people like you were dropping them off in the middle of nowhere. And it doesnt seem like the are "begging" for anything but help - which you don't care to do except by slandering 'em online and not making any difference except to put down what you're too stingy to deal with yourself.

Neelys at Bonham You do solicit for help, and ask for donations look at all the ads on this comment page. You took 30 dogs Sun. night and told the people loading them you charged 69.00 to adopt the dogs from your place. The group at T&C in Ardmore took in 60 dogs & are letting people adopt them for "free" & are not out begging for money. You sound a little fishy to me, & Barney I think you are in with this scam, how mutch are you being paid???

In regards to straydog. By your comment anout 22 shelss You are a sorry SOB I hope you do not have children because they do not deserve to have a parent as sorry as you are. I hope you find happiness in your eternal hell. after life

Once again, Thanks to all who have helped in donating their time and supplies for these poor dogs!!! I posted yesterday and only part of it got put up in this comment section so I'll try to repost and make it a bit more brief. We ARE a NON-PROFIT 501C3 CERTIFIED shelter. Which means we DO NOT PROFIT from donations, nor from adopting these dogs out! We however are facing troubles with people calling around & soliciting donations and saying they are us. WE DO NOT SOLICIT ANY KIND HELP! We accept donations but do not go asking for them - those are soley upon those who have it in their hearts to care to help us help these animals. If any of you have doubts about that - or want to know more, then call or come out and lend your time instead of nagging about whats going on and find out firsthand. Thank you all!!!

Lisanne, I am writing to you about trying to get people involved in writing to their Congressman to have it fixed so that those running a "puppy mill" have to have a license and having them inspected every couple of months to make sure the animals are being taken care of. Annabelle is one of the 76 pure breed dogs found in Love County August 17th. She was the very last dog to be adopted out and was one of the worst looking ones and she's pregnant, but she is so malnurished the puppies may not make it. Even though she looks so horrible I could not help it and I had to adopt her.Her name Annabelle is Latin meaning Grace & Beauty. No one deserves to be treated that way not even an animal. If people will get involved and write to their Congressman maybe something can/will be done. Thank You ! Sandra

Thanks unselfish volunteers for your time&Sunday afternoon in rain & heat to rescue dogs.Know 1st hand, dogs were NOT sold by Courtney Rescuers,as for Bonham, can't say as to whether or not they are profitting. They seem extrememly anxious to get the dogs. Can't help wonder, would they be as upset about situation, if dogs were mixed breed. If dogs were sold beside sheriff office, does that implicate sherieff & deputy involved as well? I think not!Courtney folks are still catching dogs,2 trips to Ardmore made yesterday with more.A 100 mile round trip!Barney & Dog Catcher need to volunteer, see situation 1st hand.Sitting on computers at 2am complaining of good deeds, when you choose to do nothing? How much food, gas, mileage,or time have you dedicated to these canine victims? I know your kind,if your Tail was kissed, you'd swear it was bitten! Those who choose to do nothing, should not be entitled to criticize those who are. Cindy in Tx. Stacy in Claremore, thanks for your FACTS on situation!!!!!

Barney and Bob, you are definately in the wrong. Get your facts straight. I would like to know who this so called reporter is that paid the rancher and didn't report it? There are more witnesses that said there was no money exchanged than said that was. You don't seemed to be concerened at all about who dumped these dogs, just to criticize the folks that rescued the poor dogs and took them to Love Co. Sheriffs Dept.

Posted by: Barbara Location: Bonham on Aug 21, 2008 at 01:00 AM
To all concerned, the Fannin Bank in Bonham has set up an account for anyone wishing to make a credit card donation. YOu can call it in, the number there is 903-583-5522. All donations will be for the spay/ neuter and vetting of all the Love Co. dogs.

January '08 my husband & daughter went to the Willis Cemetery to clean the family plots. While there they came across a neglected, very hungry, matted, poop-mud-sticker covered small puppy. The pup was excited to see them & my husband let my daughter keep it. The story doesn't stop there. They went further into the Cemetery - and found 3 tiny puppies huddled together cold - one nearly dead, later the vet said they were 3-4 week old, the first puppy was about 10 weeks old. I took them all to Marcie Arterberry, a dog groomer in Madill. Marcie told us the small puppies were Yorkies - the older one a Silkie. A lady even offered to buy them. I just wonder if there is a connection to these dogs? All dumped closed to the OK/TX border - all pure bred - all neglected. Our original plan was to give all but one away-but after they got sick, taking them to work with us to feed them, etc,etc - we still have them all. What kind of person leaves such tiny pups for the hogs, hawks & cold to kill?

Barney,I think you were the one selling the dogs and then paid someone that said they were a reporter to make a BIG nasty deal out of someone doing the right thing.I hope these people you are slandering sues the pants off you for dishing out lies on a public forum. You know what they say? Guilty Pig Squeals first! If the dogs WERE sold then what idiot would sell them by the Sheriffs office? Duh! Was the money changing hands a donation to take care of these poor homeless dogs? Who was supposedly PAID to take them to Bonham? Are you really mad because the dogs went to a Vet close by and are being taken good care of? Maybe you just need to go take care of your own dogs or something because you ARE a trouble maker and apparently you do not have enough to do besides make trouble for others. I think the authorities you have stirred up need to do some checking on you and let the people of Courtney and Love County see Barney from Bonham!

I was at the sheriffs department in Marietta and not one dog was sold out of that trailer. And the lady from Bonham who started this rumor is just mad because she wanted all the dogs so that she could make some money and get some free dog food and supplies. Every dog that has left and will leave Town and Country Animal Hospital, has an appointment to be spayed or neutered, receive all vaccinations and have a complete physical. Each person that adopted a dog knows that we will be following up on these dogs & if they have not followed thru with the appointment, that we will be taking the dogs back. They were also informed of medical conditions that these dogs may have later on down the line. So for all you people out there that think these dogs need to be killed, you are just as bad as the people are that did this to these dogs. Each and every dog was placed with a loving caring family. I have spent the past 3 days at T&CAH & I know that all these dogs will have long happy lifes.

I would just like to this opportunity to recognize the heroes of this all; the dogs for being survivors of such inhumane living conditions, and the ones who donated their time and endless engery in helping get these animals properly cared for, and placed in good loving homes. Dr. Nightengale, his volunteers, the SOAR volunteers, and those who donated supplies and money for this rescue are the ones who deserve a big heartful THANK YOU!!! from all of us who love these precious and defenseless babies who deserve to be treated with kindness and dignity and have the best of life that can be offered. Thank you again for those associated with Dr. Nightengale's rescue crew and this operation and may God bless each one of you.

I will donate a box of 22 shells that should solve the problem. It works for me when someone dumps dogs off at my place

(cont'd)...treatment that it will require to save them and make sure they're back in good health BEFORE they are re-homed. The guy who was supposed to bring us more, who I was informed was selling the other dogs "as-is", might have his heart in the right place but if he's selling sick and mistreated dogs, in my opinion, has just as much respect and care for these animals as the one who dumped them on the side of the road. And, Yes, he was paid by the reporter who was on-scene sunday night to bring them here. I was there. I suppose if they do go to good homes where they can get care, then its alright, though. But "Bob" was right- without spay/neuter agreements and background checks, how do you know they're not going into another "puppy-mill" as they are? For all those involved, Thank you for your time, donations, and efforts!

(cont'd) And there's been a few questions about the breeds and what's to be done with them and the cost. As a NON-PROFIT, certified 501-C3 , NO KILL-shelter, we don't discriminate by breed, condition, or temperment. We do make sure that they ALL are either spayed/neutered, or going to get spayed/neutered. No dog leaves here without a binding legal contract saying that the owner will have the dog/cat spayed/neutered or the animal will be pulled and taken back to the shelter and re-homed. For the breeds that were rescued, there were schnauzers, poodles, Shitzus, Lasa'Apsos (msp?) and Pugs. Monetarily, I saw a post further back saying that the rabies, spaying, and neutering wasn't going to cost as much as was stated. That also includes any and all other illnesses that the dogs have. Take for instance an elderly basset hound came in with the bunch and her eye infections are so bad that she is literally blinded by all the infection. Her treatment is nothing compared to the mange ...

Posted by: Stacy Location: Claremore on Aug 20, 2008 at 01:11 PM
to Barney in Bonham. I don't beleave you did check your facts. I know this man and the people who gathered up the dogs personally. He is a wonderful man who I know gives his time willingly. The community where the dogs were found always pull together in a crisis. They tooks hours of their evening to round them up. They are still trying to catch the remaining dogs. I think more focus should be on trying to find the person or persons responsible for dumping the dogs. The animals were in terrible shape. Thank you to Cindy in Texas and to the Scott in Ardmore to help clear this matter up.

Posted by: Will Neely Location: Neely's Pet Place on Aug 20, 2008 at 01:10 PM
To all the wonderful people who have donated their time and efforts and supplies to help the animals that DID come to the right place, THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH! We were glad to hear that Town & Country jumped in and helped with vetting and rehoming these poor animals. The one's that we did bring here are all undergoing extensive treatment for horrible mange, severe malnourishment and dehydration as well as the horrid flea infestations. Most are happy and eating well and responding greatly to care. There are a couple that are cocker-spaniel (or so they used to be) that have no hair whatsoever, and are blackened by the harsh and unending battle with mange. These are the ones that will be lucky to survive and find good homes because of the severe starvation and lack of responsibility that was shown to these sweet canines. We look at all of these dogs as lucky because of so many people pulling together to take them to heart when the heartless kick them to the side of the road.

Comments concerning the selling of the dogs. The gentleman rancher who broght the dogs to us in Ardmore did it out of the goodness of his heart. He loaded up 45 dogs in a horse trailer and drove them to us at his expense. There was never any money that changed hands nor did he ask for any. That night he set out live traps and caught the remaining 5 dogs. A person like this does not sell dogs for $40 a piece.

Posted by: M on Aug 20, 2008 at 09:14 AM
No if you'd read in my first comment I said how horrible it is for people to treat animals like this. and yes I actually do know the love an loyalty of a good dog. My dog just past away not to long ago. I actually go to Mexico to build a house for a family in need every year. Don't try to put me down just cuz we don't think the same. And going to a shelter or pound wouldn't change my mind at all! It is sad that people get pets and can't even take care of them and its just horrible that people run these nasty puppy mills.

Just wanted to post an update on the dog situation. We have 57 of the dogs here. They have all been cleaned, clipped and doctored. We will be sending them all out to their adopted homes today. We had a 100% adoption. Now we need money to spay and neuter them. Contact Town and Country for more info. Thanks everyone!

allthough I believe that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I've also worked with animals most of my life. Some of the opinions here are made in ignorance. These dogs deserve a fighting chance at a normal life, and there's nothing that predetermines an animals individual personality!..at the same time, illnesses can be treated ,..like mange. having an illness doesn't mean they arn't capable of love and loving!..To the people that rescued these dogs..you are hero's!,..to the people that put these dogs in this condition? I hope you are taken behind the woodshed and horsewhipped!..There's no excuse for the inhumane treatment and cruilty towards any animal! I hope they find you!..and last but not least. I support euthinasia in some cases, but it's not the only way!

Posted by: Barney Location: Bonham on Aug 20, 2008 at 12:13 AM
Actually, I did check my information and so did another shelter. About 40 dogs were sold by the man with the trailer in front of the sheriff's office for $40 each to anyone with cash. As we type there are reporters and investigators being called and soon you will see this is true, they made a quick buck off some of these dogs instead of taking them to the Bonham Shelter with the rest like they were supposed to be. They will not even return a phone call about the remainder of the dogs, they're still catching them and selling them. Wait, it'll come out in the news. I did check my fact..........

Posted by: Dog Lover Location: sherman on Aug 19, 2008 at 09:17 PM
M, are you the idiot that did this to these poor animals? Because the comments you are making are about the same mentality as someone who operates puppy mills. So what if these good people spend money on them, at least it's going to a noble cause. What selfless act have you contributed to recently? Why don't you go volunteer at an animal shelter and see first hand just how many dogs are killed every day for no other reason than they were born. You obviously don't know the unconditional love and loyalty a dog will give, even the mangy ones!!

Posted by: Cindy Location: Texas on Aug 19, 2008 at 06:28 PM
To Barney in Bonham and Bob (Dog Catcher) in Ardmore: You have quiet a story to tell about the people that did the rescueing of these dogs. Where did you get your facts from? Seriously, do you think someone would bother to take time out of their Sunday to rescue 80 sick, mangy, scared, possible fightfull dogs, put them in a trailor, drive to the Sherriffs office and start selling them for $40.00 a piece. Do you have any idea who you are even talking about? These folks did a very noble thing. They gave their time to rescue these dogs at the risk of not knowing for sure what all of their conditions were. They had no intention to sale and every intention of getting these poor animials a chance they wouldn't otherwise have had that day. If they had not have acted as fast as they did the chances of as many of them being rescued would have been very little. Their actions speak way louder than your words. By the way, they are still rescuing as I write.

Posted by: M on Aug 19, 2008 at 03:46 PM
The money that you will end up spending on those animals could go towards a much great cause. Like on a human being instead of a mangy dog.

Unfortantly there are so many people who don't even consider that these are Gods creatures and we should try to care and love for them just like God does for us... I don't understand why some of you don't even think they deserve a chance... Good thing God doesn't look at us that way.

WOW Im shocked by what "M" said.... I suppose thats the mentality of a lot of people around these parts."Why dont you just shoot em all" was spoken by someone in Marietta.... Why should a dog thats got potential be put to sleep? Why not take a chance? If someone has the love to offer to the dog and can take care of it financially then why not try? Ive been out to T&C and Ive seen the dogs and yes they were very matted and they need some medical attention but looking at them and seeing the RELIEF in their eyes is priceless. Any volunteer or adoptive parent will tell you that. So "M" I am sorry that your grandma got a not so nice dog from the shelter, but you cant judge all dogs by the one your grandma got.... All animals need a chance, they dont have a voice to speak for themselves, thats why there are people like us.... the ones that WILL speak for them.

Who was the man that sold the dogs by the Sheriffs office and who was the idiot that put them in his custody. They have been thru enough.

Those dogs just needed to be put out of their misery. Its horrible that people could treat an animal to the point of these but I also feel bad for the people that felt bad enough for the animals and now have to pay outrageous vet bills for some nasty looking dogs that will never be normal or act like a good pet because they were never taken care of properly. They are just some mangy mutts now. My grandmother took in a dog from the pound that was apparently beaten or something and every time anyone else besides my grandma tried to pet her she either ran off or tried to snap at you and the dog never changed and never got better around other people. Sorry if i sound mean its just the way it is.

Pat, there is a place called Homeward Humane 580-924-5873,where they will spay/neuter dogs or cats for $25. Maybe you should learn to shop around a lil bit!!!

This article is wrong on the cost of Rabies vaccines and Spay or Neuter.. I heard this on the news last night and thought at the time surely I heard wrong. When I saw this article on the web this morn, I knew the figures were wrong.. a normal spay for a female dog will cost $150 or less and neutering is even less.. someone needs to check their figures.. OR were you talking about the total care of the dog until it is adopted? If so , that dollar figure will be a little closer to the truth. But still NOT that much.. P.S. who cares who did it? .. I just care the dogs are helped..

Reply to John H. Taylor: I don't think you need any dogs considering your 2 pitbulls weren't taken care of and were euthanized because they jumped out of your vehicle and attacked a woman and an 11 yr. old child. http://www.kxii.com/news/headlines/27041194.html

I know the woman who took in those dogs. Here's the update. She runs a 501c3 shelter, last night when Love county called her none of the other shelters or the SPCA would help. She was the only shelter that showed up to try to save these poor dogs. She has 32 of those dogs at her shelter, when she called to pick up the rest she was told they were being delivered, she waited all day, she had other shelters waiting also, they never showed, they called again and were told the dogs were in Gainsville on their way. Still no dogs, earlier tonight she was told the vet had taken around 40 dogs, which was fine, but that the man with the trailer who was supposed to be hauling the dogs to her, sold them for $40 each on the side of the road by the sheriff's office. This woman is distraught at the thought of what might happen to those sick, mange covered dogs. Its a shame it's always for the money and not the best interest of the animals involved.

"Spoken for"....yeah (according to sources in Love County)...the guy who was being paid to bring the animals to Bonham sat up in front of the sherrif's department and sold the animals at $40 a dog, as is:sick and mange infested, flea infested and starved. Also, in doing so, possibly selling these animals back out into other puppy mills to end up either dead or in worse condition. Its nice to see how southern justice loves to turn a buck at the expense of animal's pain and suffering. Great job of being so "humane" about making sure ALL these animals got the help they needed and making sure that they didn't end up right back where they came from. You people make me sick and i'm ashamed to say i'm from oklahoma.

TO NIKKI WHO POSTED THE FIRST COMMENTS. DURING A TRAGIC TIME AS THIS IS FOR THESE DOGS TO BE LEFT LIKE THIS. ALL YOU COULD THINK ABOUT DOING IS TRYING TO SMEARE A FAMILY NAME. I WORK WITH THE BOYDS AND THEY ARE GOOD PEOPLE AND EVEN THOUGH I HAVE NEVER BEEN TO THERE HOUSE IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW THERE MAY LIVE TO ME OR YOU THEY DON'T DESERVE TO HAVE THERE NAME BLASTED ON KXII!!!!!!!!

As of 8pm Monday evening all but 10 animals have been spoken for. A total of 50 animals were taken into Town and Country today. The animals that are left at. The Dog lovers of Ardmore and the surrounding areas have come out in full force with the adoption and donations of everything from food to dish detergent to money. Money is still needed to help pay for the spay and neutering of each animal. Thanks to Forever Friends Foster Care, Patti Cain & Noelle Harris & SOAR (Southern Oklahoma Animal Rescue) Scott Southerland & Kathy Pruitt for time and effort in rounding up these abandoned animals.

The people who left these poor little babies to fend in the wild are not fir to be called humans. They should be treated as a criminal or left on the side of the road to starve.

I am a responsible breeder, and I cannot even begin to fathom that someone would do this. How sad a world we live in. It's terrible to say, but the life they may get now will probably be so much better than where they came from. Ive been to places to buy a puppy and left crying my eyes out and calling AKC and the SPCA because of the conditions the dogs and puppies were living in. I would imagine these dogs came from the same type of enviroment. I hope and pray they find the people responsible for this, and punish them to the fullest extent of the law. In my eyes there isnt anything they could do to them that would be harsh enough for what they have put those dogs through... Shame, shame. I hope someone finds out your name!

re:1)Noelle and all: Dr. Nightingale's office has generously donated his vet's office and time to these animals to help out with them. They are coming here after treatment and spaying/neutering to continue their "long road" back to good health. Rainbow Bridge is the sister shelter to Neely's and yes, she is taking them in also, to treat, house and re-home. Thank you all for your care and loving interest!

These are all breeder dogs. All of them are adults. They are all so badly matted that you can barely tell what breed they are. T&C will be adopting them out once they have been treated and spayed and or neutered. T&C needs towels, dawn dish detergent, food, paper bowls and any monteary donation would be greatly appreciated. If you are interested in adopting them, there would be a fee involved to pay for the spay or neutering.

Rainbow Bridge (AOHT's Rainbow Bridge, Inc. Bonham, Texas 75418, Phone: 903-583-3233) in Bonham is a GREAT source for pet adoptions. I have one of their dogs, and you could not possibly ask for a better family pet. The Bonham trade Days is also another great place to see and adopt various dogs or cats. Fees are very reasonable and the rewards are immeasurable. Understanding the financial burdens of a lot of families, please think of one of the animal rescue missions before dumping a dog or cat or any animal for that matter.
