CHOCTAW COUNTY, Okla. -- Authorities have issued an arrest warrant in a Choctaw County murder case. An OSBI spokesperson says they are looking for 32-year-old Kevin Shoals for the murder of a 20-year-old Paris man.

Shoals is wanted for the murder of 20-year-old Jarvis McCarty.

Sheriff's officials say it happened early Sunday morning at the Ebony Night Club on U.S. 271 and Old Grant Highway.

An Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation spokesperson says two groups of people started arguing inside the club. The fight moved outside, where someone started shooting.

Jarvis McCarty, 20, was shot in the back as he tried to go back inside the club. He died from his injuries.

Shoal's warrant is for first degree murder charges.

Honestly i was really just looking at the comments that were posted about Jarvis because a friend was telling some of the stuupid stuff that was posted and she wanted me to see. So i went to the web-site and go heated. I really in truly dont know why any of yall choose to take up for a man who killed someone who we can plainly see did nothing wrong that night. When i got that text message that morning it tore me up inside, and i just want to say to the fam of Shoals that he deserves triple of what ever sentence that gets or have. RIP JAB

i was there the night of the shooting. From what I hear Kevin Shoals shot the wrong guy. This is all a ridiculous and just plain cowardly. Was it that Jarvis McCarty was such a feared man is why he was shot him in the back? I think not, Kevin Shoals is and will always be a coward. He deserves to sit in jail and not be able to assist his kids in everyday activities. Because Jarvis's McCarty's baby girl will never get to spend another birthday with her father.

Speak english if you have something to say, I mean good grief people, (what is keep Shoals name out ya mouth) an (speaking up on it) Is that in English quit talking about Shoals? Heck I can't even guess what the other sentence is supposed to mean? And since when can Texas and Oklahoma people NOT go to a club an get along? I guess I am missing something, I mean maybe it has nothing to do with TX,& OK people maybe just maybe it's the people themsleves that have a problem! The main thing here is the fact that a human had there life taken and why! There is never and I mean never a reason someone should bring a gun to a fist fight! And as far as this club goes it doesn't sound like a place I want my kids or myself to go to. And if a fight broke out inside before going outside why weren't the police called? Where are the bouncers? Why were the people that were fighting allowed to be outside together? SOUND LIKE TO ME THE PLACE NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN!!!

Posted by: Anonymous on Aug 23, 2008 at 09:03 AM
Well evidently Jarvis lived a double life cause that wasn't the first time all this drama took place. There has always been drama between oklahoma and texas, which is stupid. But if you know you are having beef with someone, Y even go there when you know there is going to be trouble. And do your research because multiple shot were fired. From more than one gun.

Your exactly right Sade. And the Hugo Police need to grow some balls and start cracking down on all the drug activity and the low lives there. I'm not saying that these two people were low lives or that they were envolved with drugs either. But Hugo definitly needs to clean up their streets.

I wish people would wake up & see that there is a difference between hanging out & having a good time vs. hanging out with guns. It only leads to violence. I dont care how "good" of a guy the shooter was, what if it was your son, brother, or dad that was shot & killed? And then the shooter family starts saying he was a good guy. Good guys don't pack guns. Thugs & Gangsters, people looking for trouble or expecting trouble pack guns.

Shoals is a cool dude that wouldn't harm anyone if he didn't need to. Probably taking the blame for the lames he hang out with.

Posted by: jeff on Aug 21, 2008 at 11:32 AM
that dude took my cousin from me in a coward way and i hope he gets what he deserves for real!

Everybody need to keep that man Shoals name out ya mouth. I've been knowing Shoals for a long time and he is not a bad person.

well i think that if you wasnt there you shouldnt comment... b/c thugs are not the only ones that go to that club everybody went there to have a good time and he had no right of killing him... for no reason... or even bringing a gun in the club... so i give my prays for everyone that seen it including me and his family r.i.p we love you jarvis and miss you

Posted by: Nan Location: Sulphur Springs on Aug 20, 2008 at 08:02 PM
My prayers goes out to the family of Jarvis. Idid not know him but I do have a son. N o one should judge Jarvis, or the club maybe he was @ the wrong place @ the wrong time. Instead of judging we all should just stop for a moment and pray for the family. I will keep you'll in my prayers. Family be strong. Family of the shooter be strong, you have also lost some one you love. Much love for all of you. RIP-Jarvis

"The same disastrous results can be had by mixing toothless, brain-dead rednecks, alcohol and loud country music, so don't accuse me of racism. That's just another night of fun brought to you by the good folks at the Choctaw County Knife & Gun Club. In short, a liberal's dream." YOU MIGHT WANT TO CHECK YOUR POLITICS, BUDDY. TOOTHLESS, BRAIN-DEAD RED-NECKS? THAT'S THE REPUBLICAN BASE. LIBERALS WANT GUN CONTROL.

Think for a minute, folks- it's out in the sticks away from town, in a county that's known for settling things by shootin'. Add gun-toting thugs & punks, mix with liberal doses of alcohol, and viola'- you have a recipe for disaster. Oh yes, sprinkle with thug attitudes enhanced by gansta (c)rap, and things get interesting. The same disastrous results can be had by mixing toothless, brain-dead rednecks, alcohol and loud country music, so don't accuse me of racism. That's just another night of fun brought to you by the good folks at the Choctaw County Knife & Gun Club. It's an equal-opportunity association, with no exceptions for race or gender. In short, a liberal's dream.

I have been to this same on few occasions and never felt comfortable. It is unsafe with no security or detectors in or outside. You go in with a blind eye. I pray for his family, because it is usually the innocent who suffer from violence. May he R.I.P. and I hope that people will stop goin to this club until it starts to care for the customers that come out for a good time.

Posted by: Anonymous on Aug 19, 2008 at 01:39 PM
your spelling and grammar shows how stupid you are.

Posted by: Anonymous on Aug 19, 2008 at 01:08 PM
well the most important thang is that you people stop calling them thugs.this people have names and i would like to give pray and thoughs to the family. the small mind people white are black they where human so that shows how stuipd you people are

Posted by: Sherrie Location: Grant on Aug 19, 2008 at 12:53 PM
It doesn't matter what color or race these two men are. Both their families are affected by this tragedy. If our young people would stop to think before acting out in anger about the consequenses of our actions, then maybe so many young people wouldn't die and we as parents wouldn't be burying our children.

Hater unless you know hime you should keep your mouth shut! He was a good guy. Yes he made bad mistakes in his life, but who are you to say he was a thug??? The only one that gets to make that call is GOD! And you are not him. My prayers go out to his family and friends. RIP Jab!

Posted by: Anonymous on Aug 19, 2008 at 12:16 AM
it was called EBONY NIGHT CLUB assumeing that they were black men is not a horribly wrong assumption to make!

Posted by: Friend on Aug 18, 2008 at 04:12 PM
I knew Jarvis. I went to high school with him and even though I haven't talked to him since, and don't know what he was involved in, he was always a very nice guy. I remember how he could always make someone laugh and he was always a happy person, dancing in the halls and always a person with good sportsmanship. My prayers are with his family and friends. RIP Jarvis!

where in that story does it say that the shooter was a black man do u know something u should share with the rest of the world?

Posted by: erica Location: paris on Aug 18, 2008 at 03:39 PM
I would first like to say my prayers go out to both of the families the young man who life was lost and the young man who will spend the rest of his life in prison.Regardless of the club an its name it could have happen any were.People from all walks of life come to that club.I do agree There need to be REAL secruity and metal detecters at the club. people that run the club didn't start the arugement between the two young men or fire the shot, but the two young men made wrong decisions that caused one of them to lose his life. we are so quick to judge, point fingures, and find someone else to blame and we are forgetting the most important thing in the situation is the we have lost two more young black men,we have lost two sons,we have lost two fathers,we have lost two brothers, and we have lost two friends ALL BECAUSE OF A BAD DECISIONS

Posted by: Hater Location: Sherman on Aug 18, 2008 at 01:11 PM
Does it suprise you? Look at the name of the club. Mostly thugs go in there. They should be using metal detecters to get in there. Sorry for his family to have to lose a son with senseless fighting.
