MARSHALL COUNTY, Okla. -- Presidential politics were on the minds of many in Marshall County on Monday. Republican congressman Tom Cole made a stop at a Madill barbecue restaurant over the lunch hour to chat with constituents.

Cole said energy is a major concern of voters, from gas prices to wind alternatives. Cole said Oklahoma is poised to play a major role in the future of wind power.

The only thing hotter than the barbecue might have been vice presidential conversations, with Barack Obama announcing his choice over the weekend and John McCain expected to follow suit soon.

"The most important question is, ‘Who can be president of the United States if, God forbid, something bad happens?’ And that's one that you know. If you don't answer that one right on your selection, then whatever it is, you've made a big mistake," U.S. Rep. Tom Cole (R), Oklahoma, 4th District, said.
