REF: CHILD MOLESTER GETS TWO 35 YEAR SENTENCES
On a plea agreement between the defendant and prosecutor, 59th Judicial District Judge Rim Nall accepted a guilty plea today from 44-year-old Randy Lee Harrison of Sherman for 2 charges of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child. Judge Nall sentenced Harrison to two 35 years sentences in the Texas Department of Corrections. The sentences will run concurrently.
Harrison was arrested for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child in 1999 and sentenced to 16 years in the Texas Department of Corrections. He was accused of sexually assaulting a teenage relative. His case was overturned on appeal and he was released from prison.
In July of 2005 Harrison was again arrested for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child. Again, the case involved a juvenile relative. While incarcerated in the county jail, Harrison confessed to Sherman police detectives that he sexually assaulted the girl.
With Harrison’s guilty plea, he waived his right to appeal on both cases. Assistant Grayson County D.A. Jodi Brown prosecuted the cases.
