Mary Ellen Murphy Hall

A | A | A

The wife of Congressman Ralph Hall has died at the age of 83.

Mary Ellen Murphy Hall married Navy Lieutenant Ralph Hall in Florida in 1944. The couple moved back to Texas, where they raised their three sons.

Mary Ellen was active in several civic groups, as well teaching bible classes at the First United Methodist Church.

Congressman hall's staff say Mary Ellen was a world traveler, but home was her favorite place. She treasured the many hours she spent loving and caring for her grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are set for Friday at 4 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Rockwall.

Mary Ellen Hall was 83 years old.

I am the first grandson of Ralph and Mary Ellen Hall. Your article is titled "Mary Ellen Hall, dead at age 83". I'm sure I have seen the deaths of people written about in that way before - -"dead at age 83", but it didn't bother me until it was a member of my own family. I believe it is a little cold and disrespectful to say it in that way. You could have said "Mary Ellen Hall, passes away at age 83" or "Mary Ellen Hall leaves us at age 83". Like I said before, there are better ways of speaking about those who have passed away. - -Jay Hall

She always very gracious, kind, and caring, not to mention a beautiful lady inside and out. Our thoughts and prayers are with Congressman Hall and his family at this difficult time.
