MURRAY COUNTY, Okla. -- Authorities in Murray County are searching for a man and a woman who they say carjacked and shot a man, and left him for dead Wednesday alongside Interstate 35.

Authorities say it happened at mile marker 49 in southern Murray County around 2 p.m. 50-year-old Keith Grimes of Gainesville, Texas, was shot in the neck and his pickup truck was stolen.

Grimes did survive. He was taken from the scene by air ambulance to an Oklahoma City hospital, where he underwent surgery and remains Thursday.

An OSBI spokeswoman says the victim was driving a black Dodge pickup truck with Texas license plates when the attack occurred.

She says the pickup was found abandoned about two miles down the
highway from the scene of the attack.

Authorities are looking for a man and a woman in a red and black Ford pickup with Pennsylvania tags headed south on Interstate 35 last seen at mile marker 47.

Authorities don't have descriptions of the pair or know a motive for the assault.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

The man that was shot is a friend of mine and he has been thru hell he is going to survive. My friend had stopped to look at scenic spot and was robbed and shot for less than thirty dollars. I do find it odd that there has been nothing else about this on the news warning people to be scared. My friend said this guy isn't scared of nothing, he gave the guy what he wanted was money and still got shot. The place maybe known for sexual activities my friend just took a short drive while he was on vacation up in that area and stopped to look as I have done so because there is not alot of mountains in this area. No one knows who these people are what they look like I would think that oklahoma hwy dept would get pictures out to the public so people could be more aware of something to help find these people.

Anonymous, you said "was a good person", did he pass away? There have been no updates on any of the online news sites. Regardless of why he was there he should not have been shot.

Keith was a good person. He would help anybody. How could somebody do something like that to anybody. They deserve a lot more than the death penalty if they get caught.

Interesting information from the Arbuckle Mountains. Seems to be making more sense with that information. Of course it could be that he just made a huge error in judgement by being at that particular place, but I don't think so since the information was so sketchy.

The scenic turnout is where homosexuals go to do their business and truckers also. This is a well known fact around Murray County. I think something else was going on at that turn out. Nasty stuff.

he was pulling off of a scenic turnout on i35 by the arbuckle mountains and they ran up to his window and shot him. then they ditched his truck at the next exit and they didn't even take anything, so all they did was try to kill a man not even still from him, just kill him. i hope they get what they deserve

did the guy pull over the help them? I'm just curious as to why he was on the side of 35. I hope he recovers quickly and those two get life or the death penalty for what they did.
