SHERMAN, Tex. -- U.S. Highway 82 in Sherman was shut down for half an hour Wednesday evening as officers cleared a rollover accident.

It happened around 5:30 p.m. Witnesses at the scene say a red Nissan SUV went airborne, flipping several times.

Sherman Police say that SUV was headed west on U.S. 82 when the driver overcorrected and rolled.

Two 17-year-old women were inside, one of them was taken by air ambulance to Parkland Hospital in Dallas with head trauma. The other was taken to Wilson N. Jones Medical Center in Sherman. Police say the accident may have been caused by a blown tire.
