05-12-06 - A small plane was forced to make an emergency landing in Gainesville Friday.
It took off from the Gainesville Municipal Airport around 11:00 a.m. Minutes later, the motor died at about 300 feet in the air.
The pilot was able to glide the Cessna P210 down in a field off County Road 404 just north of the airport. He and one passenger were the only ones onboard. They were not hurt. The plane was damaged very little.
