05-22-06 - A hometown hero who was killed in Iraq was laid to rest in Marietta Monday morning. The community and family came together Monday at the Marietta High School to honor fallen Marine 21-year old Hatak Yearby, who was killed last weekend in Iraq.
Protestors of the war did show up at the service, but were kept over 1000 feet away. But everyone else was attending to honor Yearby, including dozens of veterans, who lined the walkway leading to the auditorium at Marietta High School with their motorcycles.
Veterans and others held American flags high to show respect to the Yearby family as Marines carried the casket inside.
