5-23-06 - A Howe teacher and coach has resigned this month amid an internal investigation. First News has learned the investigation centered on allegations of an inappropriate relationship with a student.
The coach taught at the Howe high school at the time the allegations came out. The school put him on administrative leave last Monday so that an investigation could be conducted. But by Wednesday, the coach resigned.
According to the superintendent, the relationship between the coach and a student was not sexual but in his words "some inappropriate things" may have occurred.
Word of the resignation has spread among students and some parents in Howe who noticed the coach was not in class today.
No criminal charges have been filed. Police haven't even received a complaint.
