Teens Hurt in Rollover Wreck

5-28-06 – Several teenagers were hurt after a rollover wreck Saturday night. According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a 16-year-old driver drove off a county road near Roberta just before 11 p.m. The car hit an embankment and rolled three to four times, landing on the passenger side.

A fourteen year old in the car had to be flown to Parkland Hospital in Dallas in serious condition. Deonna Dailey of Durant sustained arm, leg, internal and head injuries after she was ejected from the vehicle.

Another fourteen year old passenger, Dustin Bond of Durand, was also thrown from the vehicle. He was taken to Southeastern Medical Center in fair condition.

Three other passengers, a 14-year-old female from Durant, a 19-year-old male from Durant, and a 20-year-old man from Arlington, Texas were taken to the hospital in good condition.

The 16-year-old driver was treated and released from the hospital.

Troopers say speed was a factor in causing the crash.
