06-06-06 - A local Amber Alert system will soon be installed in Grayson County. It was approved by the commisioner's court on Monday.
The way it will work is local police and sheriff's offices in seven Texas and Oklahoma counties will notify the Grayson County Sheriff's office if a child is missing and the office will instantly send out an Amber Alert across Texoma.
Previously, law enforcement had to go wait for state approval before sending an alert. The whole system will cost the county around $15,000. They are working on having the system installed within the next few weekes.
