SHERMAN, Tex -- Friends and family of a 20-year-old Sherman man, killed while riding his bike, held a memorial for him Wednesday night.

Dozens of people gathered outside of the Economy Inn on Texoma Parkway in Sherman, the site of the accident that killed Derrick Sitton Monday.

Those who knew Sitton brought flowers, crosses and candles to create a makeshift memorial at the site.

"Please appreciate your loved ones because I was the one that dropped him off that day and I never got to tell him goodbye or that I loved him," Sitton's sister Danielle Garnsey said.

"My son was a good boy, yes, he was great," said Sitton's mother Darla Hiner.

Funeral arrangements for Sitton are set for Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Hebron Cemetery in Bells.
