6-10- 06 - TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Senator Jim Inhofe is visiting Iraq this weekend to see what impact the death of terrorist leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi is having on American troops and the Iraqi people.
The Oklahoma Republican is a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee. He says he wants to be in Iraq in person instead of relying on official testimony that military officers and others give the committee.
Inhofe left yesterday is expected to return to Washington early next week.
