Police in Gainesville are investigating a murder that happened on a city street around 10:45 PM on Sunday. Officers believe the shooting could have been gang related.
Police say Jesus Camacho, 20 was driving eastbound when another car pulled up next to him and fired a gun into his pick-up. His truck then veered off the road, and struck a fire hydrant and street sign before landing in pecan creek.
Comancho was pronounced dead at the scene and witnesses told officers they heard at least one gunshot and saw a dark colored car with blue headlights leaving the area.
Gainesville Police Chief Carl Dunlap says shooting are becoming more common in the city of Gainesville, however this latest shooting is unique.
