ANNA, TX -- A wreck in Anna on Friday morning shut down part of U.S. Highway 75 for part of the day and left three people, including a TX-DOT worker, in the hospital.

Anna police say a woman was driving north on U.S. Highway 75 at 11:30 a.m. and was passed by a pickup truck. At some point, the woman was forced to slam on her brakes and steer off to avoid a collision. The car behind the woman also slammed her brakes.

A TXDOT worker on a Kubota was then dragged down the median.

"One of the vehicles veered off the roadway for whatever reason. We are not sure as that is still under investigation and struck one of the guys that was weed whacking and drug him along the barrier and he was flown to Parkland Hospital. We are not sure of his condition yet," Sgt. Jeff Caponera of the Anna Police Department said.

The ladies in the vehicles were taken to McKinney Medical Center. No word on their conditions.

Judge there was no mower in the median that afternoon if you were driving that way you would have seen the signs that say MOWERS AHEAD you must be a blind lying driver not to pay attention on your driving to see that WARNING

Thursday afternoon I was driving north on 75 and near Melissa. A mower was mowing the median and part of the tractors mowing deck was covering the entire shoulder and a few inches of it were actually hanging into the left lane of traffic. With the cable protective fencing in the center of the median he could not get over any further to be off of the road. I am shocked that it did not cause an accident. I was within inches of it as i went by and could not get over because of traffic in the right hand lane. The mower was simply too wide for this job and someone will get killed if they continue using it.

Another person veers into a TXDOT worker...hmm...yet no mention of THIS person going to jail for it like the poor guy a few weeks ago. I'm not saying this person should go to jail...I know the worker a few weeks ago died, but who knows what will happen to this one? People HAVE to be more careful! Does anyone know about the truck that started it all anyway?

My parents saw this wreck happen. They were driving a semi. They said a red pickup was weaving in and out of traffic and caused the whole thing. The red truck is the one who initially lost control causing the chain reaction of cars slamming on brakes that followed. They said it was the worst wreck they ever seen. The bad part is the red truck fled the scene at the next exit after regaining control. They could not get the license number. They couldn't believe the road worker survived. They said he had his back to traffic and didn't see it comming when the car went through the cable striking him.

Oh good gried, Uneducated. I hate driving down 82 because there are so many people driving 55 mph where the speed limit is 70!! Same thing on 75! (Is this the wreck that shut down the highway for part of the morning?)

If you can't say anything productive or without assuming when you don't know the facts, keep your mouth shut. Don't have diarrhea of the mouth, it stinks!!!!

driving 50 in a 70 MPH zone does not make it safer your a hazzard get on service road or take secondard highways be responsable

What is the point in lowering the speed limit? If people don't obey the current limits they won't obey the lower one either.

Educated ur sumthing rnt u. Ppl like u get nowhere

Educated you really need to wake up it is 65mph on that highway, you should not even be going any faster than that and if you are the melissa cop will pull you over or if you run into a state troop on that highway, so I guess you are saying that the speed limit needs to be 55? I think not, people need to pay attention, and accidents like this would not happen

Where do you see it mentioned anything aboout a cell phone, speeding or roadrage? wait until you get facts before you start making your own up.

Posted by: Educated on Oct 3, 2008 at 10:11 PM
Speeding, talking on cell phones, tailgating and road rage. People are dying or getting severly injured. Speed limits need to be lowered and people need to pay attention. I hate to drive on 75 and 82. It is like being on a race track.
